Lejla Batina is a Professor in the Digital Security Group of the Institute for Computing and Information Sciences at Radboud University in Nijmegen (Netherlands). She is the recipient of a VIDI grant from the Dutch government that has enabled her to start her own research group working on several aspects of applied cryptography and embedded security. She received her PhD in cryptography from Katholieke Universiteit Leuven (Belgium) and her MSc from the University of Zagreb (Croatia). She also has studied at Eindhoven University of Technology and worked as a cryptographer for SafeNet B.V. Batina has published more than 100 refereed papers and served on more than 70 programme committees, including programme co-chair of CHES 2014 (the IACR flagship conference on cryptographic hardware) in Busan (South Korea), and given more than 30 invited talks at conferences and summer schools.
